Summary
The name ORPHIC originated from my graduation project “New Entree”. This project stands for a great turning point in my life. I found and decided to follow my own path into prop-making and concept design. To make unknown worlds visible. As a young child I was already fascinated by science fiction and this interest increased further in my life. In my second year of the HKU I worked together with Danos van der Zande on a prop project. That was the point I realized what I wanted. It is fascinating to create products from someone else’s or my own fantasy world and work it out into the finest details. I was never much of a talker: verbal community might not my strongest point, but I love to tell story in a visual way. By things you can see, touch, feel, experience. After graduating my bachelor Product Design at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, I started my own business: ORPHIC PROPS
